About cassava starch.
The Thai Tapioca Starch Association announced that the selling price of tapioca starch remained unchanged compared to the previous week, at 525 USD per ton FOB Bangkok (announcement on July 23, 2024). Note: The export price published on Thailand’s website is based on the previous week’s transaction price. Typically, Thailand’s published price is higher than the actual price by 30 – 50 USD per ton. Vietnamese factories are offering the same price as last week, ranging from 490 – 515 USD per ton FOB Ho Chi Minh Port.

About Cassava Chips
According to reports from cassava chip exporters, the demand for cassava chips in China is expected to continue declining in the upcoming harvest season. The reason is attributed to low corn prices, with some ethanol plants in China using corn or other alternative raw materials as substitutes.
Reports from cassava processing plants indicate that demand for orders from China remains sluggish.
The purchasing price of raw materials in the Tay Ninh area has decreased, leading to a drop in the production cost of tapioca starch at Tay Ninh factories. However, the FOB offering price in Ho Chi Minh City has not decreased further due to the limited supply at the beginning of the harvest season.
